Virginia Cathey Collections

Virginia Cathey is the Designer, Seamstress, Tailor and entrepreneur of Virginia Cathey Collections.  In the fashion industry she would be labelled a ready-to-wear designer. Her designs of women’s clothing range from sizes 4 to 24. She has a way of representing soft, but rough in her collections that vary from conservative, to formal, to party nights out, to vacations, to daytime wear and evening wear with a sprinkle of business attire. She also offers special custom made designs for proms, weddings, family picture days and other occasions.

When she vends she is selling her hand crafted leather capes with leather cuffs for legs and arms to match, crotched items like broaches, hair accessories, hats, scarves and gloves. Along with hand-made flowers as bracelets and hair accessories, as well as her own shea butter oil blend of essential oils needed for hair and body health.

She has been sewing at an early age due to her mother, aunt and grandmother being experts at this craft; it was only right that she follow suite. She has now been sewing for over 20 years and has decided to make it into a business 3 years ago.

The objective of Virginia Cathey Collections is to cater to the forever changing woman, which is why a lot of her designs have some sort of stretch factor or are made with stretch fabrics and/or are able to be worn in more than one way (reversible from front to back or inside out to right side in, to mention a few). This allows Virginia Cathey Collections customers to have a garment that grows with them regardless of going up or down in size. So instead of growing out of something and having to replace garments that no longer work for them; they can now have a timeless and size less piece that grows with them, regardless.
