Rachel Johnson, an Englewood native, is the genius behind some of the NBA’s best dressed athletes today. Period. Johnson, a graduate of Florida A&M University, is the founder of Thomas Faison Agency (@ThomasFaison) and is the leading celebrity style strategist that focuses on styling professional athletes for red carpets, covers and everything in between. Rachel fell in love with fashion at a very young age and was even voted “best-dressed” herself in high school. In college she met Groovey Lew, a hip-hop stylist who showed her the possibility of a career built on dressing celebrities and it was then she knew where her life would lead her. She’s styled folks like Lebron James, Serena Williams, Chris Bosh, Matt Kemp and Amar’e Stoudemire just to name a few. She began her career working for Essence which enabled her to form amazing connections with incredible people like June Ambrose and Sybil Pennix. Not long after that she began working for them learning the ins and the outs of the business and thus TFA was born. One of the main goals for her company is to bring a change to the fashion community. She goes by saying. “I want men to feel included in fashion and to feel a type of fashion is attainable.” Johnson is a firm believer in an athlete’s ability to translate fashion to men much more effectively than models that rip the runway.
